Safety & Well-being
The safety and wellbeing of our children is my number one priority. Parents and families need to trust that their children are safe when they bring them to our schools. We also need to ensure that teachers feel safe in their workplace so we can retain the best educators.
- Parental engagement and communication are key to our students’ overall success. Parents should know what their children are learning and doing at school.
- We must do all we can to keep our schools safe. This includes continuing our partnership with the Riverside Police Department to provide school resource officers on all school campuses.
- We must have safe & responsible technology practices that support student learning while limiting classroom disruption, including responsible phone and computer practices.
Academic Achievement
I believe that student success is only achievable in partnership with families and teachers. We need to give teachers the space and tools to be innovative in the classroom. And, we must ensure that the district listens to what parents want for their children.
- More funds and resources must be directed to the classroom where they can have the greatest impact.
- Our educators and administrators must listen to parental concerns and do their part to reinforce family values at school and keep parents engaged and involved.
Workforce Readiness
I believe that every student deserves the opportunity to have a variety of choices for their career paths. We need to continue investing in our technical education pathways and STEM programs to ensure that every student can have a bright future in their career of choice.
- We must deepen our partnerships and collaboration with our local community colleges and universities to create more educational and training pathways that lead to well-paying careers of all types.
- Our district should explore partnerships with local and regional businesses to provide our students with apprenticeship opportunities that deepen learning and expand career choices.
